English Language Test Waiver Request

If English is not your first language, we ask that you show your English language skills. Learn more about English proficiency test requirements for international students.

You may also fill out the online Pitzer English Language Test Waiver form.

This form will ask for your name, date of birth, and reason for requesting a waiver. You must upload a PDF of evidence of your English language skills. 

You can show your writing skills through English proficiency tests, a graded research paper, or another writing assignment from high school. Examples include:

• ACT
• ACTFL Oral Proficiency Interview
• AP Language and Composition Score
• AP Literature and Composition Score
• International Baccalaureate Exam Score
• Cambridge English Exam
• Pearson Test of English – Academic
• Duolingo (DET)
• Paper-Based TOEFL
• SAT

You may also need to do a video interview with the Pitzer Enrollment Team.

You should hear from the Pitzer Enrollment Team within 3 to 5 business days. We consider waiver requests on a case-by-case basis. Not all waiver requests may be granted.

If necessary, the Office of International Programs will do a Skype interview with you. The interviewer will ask about your academic preparation and interest in Pitzer. Prospective students may only interview once.
